One night until departure and no place to stay. After my brother expectedly ignored my pleas to crash on his couch I started searching Airbnb for cheap places to stay. I tried leveraging my status as Superhost to receive a discount on a few different Airbnb's. Just as I feel my vibrating to inform me of a 20% price reduction on a place nearby I hear the cashier notifying me that my credit card has has been declined. Guess I finally ignored my bills long enough to max out my Visa
Desperation creates urgency. It inspires brilliance. Two things I need in life to combat my procrastination. Instead of paying for an Airbnb I will sleep on the floor of the Airport.. for free! Within 15 minutes I am $150 closer to paying back my $8000 debt. Within 15 hours I will be be 5700 kilometers away from a job that provides the funds to pay back the rest.
At 10pm I took a train to the Airport for a 6am departure. For the second time in my life I am prepared before the last second. Even better, there's so few people at the Airport at this time that I could lay across seats rather than the floor. With a start like this, how can I not be in for the trip of a lifetime. Perhaps the last of my lifetime.
